At St Lawrence Primary School, technology is an important tool that supports and enriches learning across the curriculum. We integrate a range of Apple devices – including iPads, Apple TVs, and MacBooks – to enhance student engagement, creativity, and collaboration.
We use a blended learning and teaching model, where technology complements and supports learning experiences rather than replacing them. Our approach ensures that technology is used purposefully, allowing students to explore, create, and collaborate while still engaging in hands-on, face-to-face learning.
We are committed to teaching our students to be safe, respectful, and responsible users of technology. Through ongoing digital citizenship education, students learn how to navigate the online world with integrity and awareness. We also recognise the importance of developing students’ ICT skills so they are equipped to succeed in today’s ever-changing technological landscape.
Our Device Program:
- Prep – Year 2: 1:2 iPad ratio for classroom use
- Years 3 – 6: 1:1 iPads, which students take home after returning their annual ICT agreements and termly user agreements, promoting responsible use
Our guiding motto is: “Anywhere, anytime, but not all the time.” This reflects our belief that technology should be available when it adds value to learning, but not dominate it.
